We’re excited to welcome you to the very first post on the Hex5 blog. Whether you’ve joined us as a vendor, an organizer, or a shopper, thank you for being part of our journey to make local markets simpler, safer, and stronger.
Who We Are
Hex5 was born out of a simple idea: pop-up markets should be easier to find, join, and enjoy. Too often, small vendors waste hours scrolling through scattered Facebook posts, filling out repetitive Google Forms, or - worst of all - falling victim to scams. Organizers, meanwhile, struggle to recruit vendors and manage applications with tools that were never designed for markets.
We decided it was time for a change. Hex5 is a mobile-first platform that connects vendors, organizers, and shoppers in one trusted space.
- Vendors can set up a profile once and quickly apply to markets that use Hex5’s application system.
- We are currently piloting a program that allows verified organizers who prefer their own application process to still list their events on Hex5; vendors are then directed to that organizer’s application flow.
- Shoppers benefit either way, discovering more authentic local experiences all in one place.
Our Founders
- Bianca Terejanu (CEO) – A former vendor herself, Bianca knows firsthand the challenges small businesses face. She previously ran Charlotte Chimney Cakes, a home-based bakery, and understands the vendor experience from the ground up. At Hex5, she leads vendor support, builds partnerships with community leaders, and helps grow our ecosystem.
- Gabriel Terejanu (CTO) – A professor and technologist, Gabriel built Hex5 to be lightweight, mobile-friendly, and designed to scale with the needs of local entrepreneurs.
Together, our mission is to empower small businesses, artisans, and local organizers while strengthening the communities they serve.
